Small Moves – Moving Van (Under 20m³ Capacity)

Our smallest moving vehicles are agile vans, perfect for quick moves of a few items or a studio apartment. These moving vans offer flexibility for “a few boxes” or minimal furniture, providing an affordable option for small-scale relocations. Optimove uses these vans when a full-size truck isn’t necessary – for example, student moves, single-room deliveries, or transporting delicate items separately. Despite their smaller size, our vans are fully equipped with professional moving gear (straps, blankets, etc.) to protect your belongings. Clients appreciate that even on tiny moves, they receive Optimove’s trademark care and efficiency, instead of having to hire and drive a van themselves. (Optimove offers moving vans in addition to trucks, covering almost all size requirements. )

Capacity: Generally under 20 cubic meters (varies by van). This is enough for a studio or compact one-bedroom worth of items.

20–25m³ Small Truck (1–2 Bedroom Moves)

Optimove’s small removalist trucks (around 20–25m³ capacity) are ideal for moving the contents of a one to two-bedroom home in a single trip. Don’t let the term “small” fool you – these are fully equipped, commercial-grade pantech trucks with hydraulic lifts and all the padding and tie-downs needed for safe transport. They are simply the right size for smaller households, ensuring you get cost-effective, efficient service without paying for unused space.

Typical capacity is ~20 cubic meters, which comfortably fits furniture and boxes from a 1–2 bedroom apartment or townhouse. In practical terms, that’s about 100–150 standard moving boxes worth of space, or a combination of bedroom and living room furniture for a small home. Using the appropriately sized truck means fewer trips and faster completion of your move – an essential part of Optimove’s promise of “worry-free removals” at great value.

40–55m³ Medium Truck (3–4 Bedroom Homes)

For mid-sized moves, Optimove operates medium trucks in the 40 to 55 cubic meter range, capable of moving an entire family home in one load. These trucks are often 6–8 ton rigid vehicles with large enclosed cargo spaces. A single medium truck can typically accommodate the furniture and boxes of a standard 3-bedroom house (or up to a snug 4-bedroom home), including bulky items like couches, beds, dressers, dining sets, and appliances. By matching this truck size to mid-size moves, we ensure you get efficient relocation without multiple trips, keeping your moving day on schedule.

Each truck has a powered tail-lift for safe loading of heavy items (like fridges or pianos) and is stocked with high-quality moving pads, straps, and trolleys. This means even fragile and bulky items can be handled safely. We often assign medium trucks for moves such as small family homes, larger apartments, or office relocations of moderate size (e.g. an office with 10–12 staff, which is roughly equivalent to a 3-bedroom home in volume).

Capacity: ~40–45m³ on average (up to ~55m³ if needed). In Optimove’s pricing tiers, this corresponds to about a 3-4 bedroom home’s contents.

Suitable Moves: 3-bedroom houses, medium-sized apartments, or offices of about 10–12 employees. If you have a standard family household, this is likely the truck we’ll send.

Typical Use Cases: Moving a family from a suburban 3-bed/2-bath house, relocating a medium office, or handling a partial interstate move where space for ~40 m³ of goods is required. These trucks are also used when clients have a large volume but not enough to warrant our biggest truck, ensuring you’re not paying for empty space.

60–65m³ Large Truck (4–5 Bedroom Homes)

When relocating a large household or a small office in one go, our large trucks (with a capacity of approximately 60–65m³) are up to the task. These vehicles are some of the bigger rigid trucks on the road – often 10+ ton trucks with extra-long bodies – allowing us to fit the contents of a spacious 4-bedroom or even a standard 5-bedroom home in a single trip. With a truck this size, Optimove can typically move 30+ large furniture items and dozens of boxes at once, which means even a big family home can be packed, moved, and unpacked faster, with no shuttling back and forth.

Everything about these large trucks is designed to handle major moves safely. They come with a larger crew to ensure quick loading/unloading, and equipment such as heavy-duty dollies and lift gates to manage items like pianos, pool tables or large appliances (yes, we move those too!). For the most demanding relocations, Optimove offers ultra-large 100m³ removal trucks – some of the largest on the road. These massive trucks (often utilising trailer combinations or extended pantechs) can carry what would take two smaller trucks to handle. We deploy our 100 m³ mega-movers for scenarios such as mansion relocations, large family homes, or complex interstate moves where an entire household, including specialty items, needs to be moved simultaneously. With one huge truck, we can often move an “entire mansion in one go”, which minimises coordination hassles and ensures your goods all arrive together.

One of Optimove’s largest trucks is being loaded – with a capacity of ~100 m³, it efficiently handles major moves in a single trip. Using a 100m³ truck is a game-changer for big moves: it means our crew can load all your furniture, appliances, and boxes into one secure cargo space. When do we use 100m³ trucks? Whenever it’s the most efficient and safe option. Large corporate or office moves also sometimes utilise this truck if there are substantial workstations or archives to relocate at once.
